As a former reporter, I know what makes a good story. So when I transitioned into strategic communications, I leveraged my experience digging into data and government databases to help journalists find and break their own stories. My work in conceiving and conducting data research projects led to numerous front-page articles in national media outlets. It also helped the public relations firm to receive $225,000 from an American foundation for a storytelling campaign.
While at Resource Media, I also I helped to direct and implement media campaigns for conservation groups. This work included writing media pitches, op-eds, blog posts and fact sheets to influence targeted audiences, including national reporters and federal and state legislators.
